Introducing The North Face: the real outdoor sports in Japan
In 1978, GOLDWIN began the distribution of The North Face products. It was the reliability of The North Face products—which had a loyal following among many well-known outdoor adventurers around the world—that found enormous support among young people in Japan looking for heavy-duty gear.  Standard for the “Holiday Inn Resort brand” are the various services for children including the suite type rooms, kid’s club, “Kids Stay & Eat Free” which allows children 12 and under to eat and stay for free (when sleeping with their parents), opportunities to engage with the hotel mascot, and family other oriented activities. These are all targeted for families to enjoy their stay together. These services will be combined with the various activities, outdoor clothing and items that THE NORTH FACE offers under the “THE NORTH FACE KIDS NATURE SCHOOL”, a program that nurtures the next generation of nature enthusiasts, to offer a lifestyle in nature that can be enjoyed by children and adults.

・Outdoor activities in the great nature of Omachi

The abundant nature in the Omachi area is the ideal setting for seasonal outdoor activities. Trekking along the base of the Northern Alps in the spring, SUP on the lake during the summer, mountain biking or camping among the fall foliage, and skiing and snowshoeing in the winter are just some of the activities that are available in the field through year. The range of outdoor activities in the Omachi field will be expanded further with the support of “THE NORTH FACE” operated by GOLDWIN, which has its origins in the Toyama area that is connected to Omachi through the Alpine Route.

・Sustainability to protect the environment

The new mountain resort co-created by the two entities will also provide opportunities to think about the environment through the activities that are offered. Equipment used for the activities are chosen with consideration for the environment, ongoing efforts are made for sustainable activities with the corporations and organizations in Omachi, and related activities are carried out to promote local businesses and protect the environment around Omachi where the field is located.
