Kurobe Dam

The Kurobe Dam is Japan’s largest arch dam and also one of it’s greatest feats in engineering. Taking 8 years to be built, it’s worth exploring this section of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route on foot to take in the scenic view. Completed in 1963, it’s 186m high and also Japan’s tallest dam.
